 Alliance Defence Force Promotions Information

So you are looking to get promoted within the ADF, or just curious as to how the ranking structure works...

Firstly, there is no habit in this guild of promoting those that ask, so save your breath. Rank is earned, not given.

We officers generally go by the following Ranking Guidelines when promoting people by default:

Promote from PROBATION to PRIVATE:
Character Level 30
Guild Member for One Month -OR-
Registered on the Guild Forums
Promote from PRIVATE to CORPORAL:
Character Level 50
Promote from CORPORAL to SERGEANT:
Character Level 70
Promote from SERGEANT to Jr OFFICER:
Officer candidates MUST be registered on Forums before being promoted to Junior Officer.
Promotions to officer are solely based on officer evaluations of members' participation and guild input.
Promote from Jr OFFICER to OFFICER:
By the time you reach this rank you will have noticed that officers are broken down into 2Lt, Lt, Capt, Maj, Lt Col with Lt Col being Lt COMMANDER rank ingame. You will gradually rise through the ranks depending on your conduct as an officer and your contributions both ingame and out.

General Members Promotions are mainly based on these Character Levels, but can also be influenced by Forum Registration and Activity, Guild Contributions (by helping fellow guildmates, donations to Guild Bank, Recruiting) and Participation in Guild Events. There have been Lvl 30 Sergeants, and Lvl 50 Officers (not just Junior Officers either).
Now some of you may be thinking "but I have been showing up to guild events" or "I have been making donations and asking what to donate", and are wondering why you aren't officers by now... An explaination, Your promotion will not rely on any ONE of those things, but an overall combination, as well as discussion by the officers (yes we do talk alot in our channel and forum about what we see). Anyone can be all "look at me! look at me! I'm donating a heap. what else can I donate, oh please sir please!" but when I (Laverous) say that you should worry about your own pocket and say, for example, save for your mount, then there isn't really much impact that you can make on the Guild Bank and that coin would do much better in your pocket where the percentage of benefit is much greater. The donations are more for higher levels to splash a bit of loose change, or for people to donate profession materials, or some useful items. Also, I do hear many things that go on, and if you've been all "in my face" but behind my back asking "where's my promotion", that's not the sort of officer I'm looking for.
Generally, if you're helping, there's no need to make a huge deal about it, because we'll notice you more than if you shout it to the world.
